1. Two scholarships of $1,000 each shall be awarded at the Association's convention banquet. Along with the scholarship, recipients will receive a biographical account of Emil A. Honka.
2. The recipients of the scholarship shall be notified by the Scholarship Committee Chairman around the middle of April 2001 and, except for unusual circumstances, each must be present at the convention to receive the award, The M. A. B. will reimburse recipients for their expenses in attending the convention to receive their awards provided the recipients
submit such expenses.
3. Completed applications for the scholarship MUST be in the hands of the committee by February 1. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
4. Scholarships may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students with no preference given to any field of endeavor. A recipient may apply again for a scholarship in the following year.
5. Applicants must be legally blind or have a prognosis of serious vision loss in the near future, and be residents of Montana.

2. Submit a detailed financial statement of the person(s) supporting you.

3. An up-to-date transcript.
4. A comprehensive eye report from a qualified eye doctor.
5. Letters of recommendation from three of the following:
head of the department or instructor in the field in which he or she is majoring; high school principal; employer;
Blind & Low Vision Services Counselor or other advisor; minister or other community leader; or
other suitable references. Family, parents, or relatives should not be used for
references.
6. The applicant must have completed at least one semester or quarter of college or the equivalent of 12 credit hours within one year's time with a cumulative Grade Point Average
of 2.5.
